Indecisive Dereliction by Eugenia Kim

Indecisive Dereliction is a short dance film bringing forth the struggle of a couple, representing the tension of relationships. Complexities become present as somatic movement featured in the close-up shots direct the sight and become part of the choreography, rendering a social commentary on commitment in the face of inner conflict.

Eugenia Kim is a PhD student at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include digital preservation, dance, virtual reality, and medical humanities. She received her dance education in the USA, including summers at the Ailey School and Boston Conservatory and postgraduate education at CalArts. From 2012-2015, she founded and directed the Penumbra: Movement company. Her works have been shown in Boston, Hong Kong, and New York, amongst other cities. Eugenia also holds a B.S. in Electronic Media, Arts and Communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a M.S. in Information Science from University at Albany.
